How To Activate a Phone with Boost Mobile
Steps to activate on your Android phone.
- From the home screen, tap the Phone icon.
Note: The device must be in a Boost Mobile coverage area to complete the programming and activation process. To verify Boost Mobile coverage, visit the Boost Mobile website at www.boostmobile.com/coverage.
- Dial ##72786#
- Tap OK
The device will power off and restart.
- Swipe to unlock the screen.
- Once the device restarts, the Hands Free Activation will begin automatically.
Once the activation is complete, tap OK.
- Once the PRL update is complete, tap OK.
The device will power off and restart.
- Swipe the screen to unlock the device.
- The phone will update the Firmware.
If an update is available, follow the prompts to install it.
Otherwise, tap OK.
- The network settings have been reset.
Can I use Boost Mobile with my own SIM card?
You’ll need a Boost Mobile SIM card to allow your phone to access our network. You can buy a Boost Mobile SIM kit online or at your nearest Boost Mobile store.
Why is my Boost mobile SIM card not working?
If your SIM is not installed properly, try turning off the phone, taking the SIM out and putting it back in (make sure it it seated correctly) before restarting your phone. If this doesn’t work, your SIM may be damaged or faulty and you’ll likely need to order a replacement SIM.

Boost Mobile is an American wireless service provider owned by Dish Wireless. It uses the Dish, AT&T and T-Mobile networks to deliver wireless services.
