To activate your SIM, head to optus.com.au/activate and follow the prompts. You can do this using a computer, tablet or another smartphone. Or put your SIM in your phone and call 555. You’ll need current and valid ID details (such as your driver’s licence, credit card or passport) to activate.

Can I activate an Optus SIM from outside Australia?
The OPTUS SIM can be activated online prior to entering Australia (they let you verify your ID by using any international credit card). There are 3 different types of plans for you to choose from, “MY PREPAID ULTIMATE”, “MY PREPAID DAILY PLUS” AND “MY PREPAID LONG EXPIRY”.
