A trackable is a moveable item within the game of geocaching which travels from geocache to geocache. Trackables appear in many shapes and sizes and are different from other SWAG items you may find within a geocache. Each trackable includes a six-digit code somewhere on the item.

For most trackables you will go here: www.geocaching.com/track. Enter the tracking code on the actual trackable (not the one on the piece of paper) in the Activate Trackable box and click Activate.

In theory, you can go geocaching without internet, a smartphone or GPS device, although it does make it a bit trickier. Lack of internet isn’t a massive issue as some apps let you save lists of geocaches offline, but they’ll still rely on the device’s GPS.
What can I use as a geocache?
Small toys: While small toys may not be exciting to some adults, many children get a sense of joy and adventure when they stumble upon a geocaching treasure! Examples include small car toys, finger puppets, toy soldiers, or animal figurines. Make sure the toys are waterproof and can withstand your local weather!
