The Eurail Pass, introduced in 1959 and formerly known as Europass or Eurorail Pass, is a rail pass which permits travel through 33 European countries on nearly all railroads and several shipping lines.

Where do I activate my Eurail Pass?
To do this, simply go to the ticket office of any large train station in one of the participating Eurail countries. A railway official will then activate your Eurail Pass by filling in the start and end date of your Pass, as well as your passport number. They will also stamp the Pass in order to validate it.
How do I use my Eurail Pass for the first time?
If you have already pre-activated your Eurail Pass at the time of purchase, you can start traveling straight away. The person activating the Eurail Pass will stamp the date in the activation box and fill out your passport/ID number together with the first and last valid days of travel.
Should I wait to activate my Eurail Pass?
No, this is not necessary. You can choose to activate each Pass individually in ‘My Pass’ at any point until the day you want to start your trip. Please note: Once a Pass has been activated, you won’t be able to remove it from a device.

Add your Pass to the app and start getting ready for your trip. Simply follow the link in the confirmation email we sent you when you bought your Pass to get started quickly, or follow these steps: Open the Rail Planner app and go to My Pass. Tap ‘Add your Pass’ to get started.

Please note that you will have to carry the luggage yourself and that luggage placed in the luggage racks remains under the sole responsibility of the traveler. It’s advised to clearly label your hand luggage with your name and address.
Can two people use the same Eurail Pass?
10 replies. The pass is entirely separate from any reservations. It is best for the passes to be on individual phones if there is any chance you will be travelling separately at any point. You can copy the trip you make on one device to another but any subsequent changes will have to be added to both separately.
